Amstel Malta Lights Up Port Harcourt as Festive Season Activities Expand

Port Harcourt added to its growing list of festive activities on 3rd December 2025 with the Legendary Christmas Light Up at GRA Junction. The event, powered by Amstel Malta in partnership with the Rivers State Tourism Development Agency (RSTDA), the Rivers State Signage and Advertising Agency (RISAA), and the Rivers State Investment Promotion Agency (RIVINVEST), drew residents, visitors, and officials who came to enjoy the colourful display.
Speaking at the event, Thibaut Boidin, Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, noted that this was the first time such an activation was being held in Port Harcourt. He expressed appreciation to consumers, partners, and the organizing team for their support in bringing the experience to life and encouraged everyone to fully enjoy the experience.
Also speaking, Mr. Francis Obiajulu, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta & Hi-Malt, Nigerian Breweries, said the brand chose to brighten the city as part of its commitment to inspiring people to “be their best.” He noted that the light-up was a way of appreciating consumers during the festive season and encouraging them to step into the holidays with optimism and confidence.
Mr. Yibo Koko, Director-General of RSTDA, explained that the initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance public spaces, promote tourism, support small businesses, and stimulate the yuletide economy by creating more avenues for residents and visitors to celebrate and connect.
GRA Junction was transformed with bright lights, Christmas ornaments, and festive installations that illuminated the evening. As the lights came on, the crowd cheered and captured the moment, adding to the growing excitement across the city.
With many other Christmas-themed activities planned in different parts of Rivers State, the event forms part of the State’s broader effort to create a lively, welcoming, and joyful atmosphere throughout the holidays.
